Expedition website online! | Korpijaakko
It’s been a bit quiet in th blog but expedition preparations are going well in the background. As a to-be-M.Sc.-in-technology I’ve spent a lot of time with Excel spreadsheets but also some time with sewing machine, ordering and testing gear, etc. The promised post about expedition gear is still in the process but will be online at some point. There will be also a detailed post about food.
The big news for now is that the Ultima Thule 2011 expedition website is finally online! It is still under construction and there will be more material before we leave to Svalbard. Unfortunately the site is only in Finnish. The site can be found here.

The expedition’s logo was also published with the website and can be seen above. Personally, I like it a lot.
It is now a proper winter even in Southern Finland: over half-a-meter of snow and temperatures plummeting below -30 C at nights. This means great weather for training! I will spent the next weekend at Repovesi National Park skiing and camping with some other expedition members. Expect some tweets from the wild again. And if you’d like to meet us for some strange reason, leave a comment and ask details about our intended plan for the weekend.
