Stronghold Crusader was the best so far. It provided endless fun especially in the custom matches. The Campaign was never too good in my opinion in any of the Strongholds. However, playing against the AI or friends really was fun.Extreme plays exactly like the original Stronghold Crusader, only with a few additions. The unit cap has been increased from 1000 to a staggering 10,000 troops, special Tactical Powers such as the Arrow Volley can be used and new buildings make their appearance alongside the Crusader Extreme skirmish trail.Arguably, the best choice for a beginning player would be to start with the Castle Builder, as you will not be pitted against an opponent. Now, the most important thing to get a grasp of in Stronghold is getting your resources and putting civilians to good use.

This crusader build uses the Akkhan, Invoker, and Norvald sets to destroy GRs. This is the strongest Crusader build in the game.You have and getting ales is pretty cheap too. So definitely worth it. Number three crossbow men are the best units against enemy Bots. And producing crossbows using Fletchers is the best economic.Stronghold 3 is boring beyond redemption. The blurb on the retail box should have been written along the lines of "We've run out of ideas, our artists forgot how to draw, and our programmers can't produce stable code anymore, but hey, a long, long time ago we made one really great game!"
