What grades does Cambridge accept?
There are quite a few Cambridge English tests, but only the most common tests available for adults are discussed on this site.

  • KET – elementary level (A2)
  • PET – intermediate level (B1)
  • First Certificate – upper intermediate level (B2)
  • CAE – advanced level (C1)
  • CPE – proficient level (C2)
  • Linguaskill – all levels.

How to calculate the CAE Score

  1. Reading and Use of English (Assessed Separately) Reading: 34 items = 50 points.
  2. Writing: 2 questions= 40 points. Part 1: 1 answer = 20 points.
  3. Listening: 30 questions= 30 points (1 answer = 1 point) Part 1: 6 answers.
  4. Speaking: 75 points (not divided into items or parts)

SKILLS AT LEVEL C1

He/she can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for the right expression. He/she can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

Is B2 fluent : Level B2 corresponds to independent users of the language, i.e. those who have the necessary fluency to communicate without effort with native speakers.

Can you pass CAE with B2

If your performance is below Level C1, but falls within Level B2 (scale score 160–179), we will recognise your achievement with a Cambridge English certificate stating that you demonstrated ability at Level B2.

Can you get C2 with a CAE : Students scoring 200 or above on the C1 Advanced will receive a Cambridge English certificate for level C2. Students scoring between 160 and 179 will receive a B2 English certificate.

If B2 is what many consider “fluent,” then C1 is fluency with increased nuance and understanding. At C1, you can understand subtle jokes in the language, and express yourself with colorful native phrases. Is it hard to go from B2 to C1

Moving from an intermediate (B2) level to an advanced (C1) level signifies a significant milestone in your language journey. Achieving C1 proficiency requires dedicated effort and consistent practice.A B2 level of English would allow you to function in the workplace in English, and indeed, many non-native English speakers in international workplaces have this level of English. A person working in English at a B2 level will, however, lack nuance particularly outside his own field.The Cambridge Advanced Certificate (CAE) exam is a challenging test of English proficiency, and some parts are notoriously difficult.

C1 Advanced is targeted at the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), while C2 is targeted at the C2 CEFR level. C2 Proficiency is therefore the more difficult of the two exams.

Is C1 fluent or native : Fluent (C1+)

You have now reached written and spoken fluency. You can communicate naturally, effectively, and appropriately even in demanding oral and written tasks and situations. Occasional mistakes do not lead to a misunderstanding of your message.

Are native speakers C2 : Someone with a C2 level speaks the language on a near-native level. Even though the language is not their mother-tongue, they understand, speak and write it really well and have no trouble with the great majority of the slang and idioms.

How fluent is C2

It is our highest-level qualification – proof that you are a highly competent speaker of English. A C2 Proficiency qualification shows the world that you have mastered English to an exceptional level. It proves you can communicate with the fluency and sophistication of a highly competent English speaker.

Level B2 corresponds to independent users of the language, i.e. those who have the necessary fluency to communicate without effort with native speakers.You'll also comprehend longer English texts both in reading and in listening. At this stage, you can use English not only for day-to-day topics but also for business and academic purposes. Although B2 is already considered to be “fluent,” C1 fluency implies increased understanding of the nuances the language.

Can I get C1 with B2 : B2 First – Level C1

Exceptional candidates sometimes show ability beyond B2 level. If you achieve a scale score of 180–190 (grade A) in your exam, you will receive the First Certificate in English stating that you demonstrated ability at Level C1.
