Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is a 1992 psychological horror film directed by David Lynch and written by Lynch and Robert Engels. It serves as a prequel to the television series Twin Peaks (1990–1991), created by Mark Frost and Lynch, who were also executive producers. The music, costumes, editing, acting, and direction all received Emmy nominations, leading one to conclude that "Twin Peaks" not only satisfied the public, but the critics as well. An incredible achievement, "Twin Peaks" is my all-time favorite television show.Serial drama Surrealism Mystery Drama Horror

The story of Twin Peaks follows the investigation by FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper into a brutal murder of a home coming queen Laura Palmer.
Should I watch Twin Peaks movie before the show
Watching a franchise in chronological order makes sense most of the time.
Did Twin Peaks movie come first : Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, American mystery film, released in 1992, that was directed by David Lynch and served as both a prequel to and a culmination of his television series Twin Peaks (1990–91).
Watching a franchise in chronological order makes sense most of the time.
While there is no cursing, nudity, etc. some of the themes are pretty heavy, there is discussion of drugs/prostitution and there are definitely some scenes that will give you nightmares (at any age). (Also, please note that my review is of the original Twin Peaks- Seasons 1 & 2.
What is gender in Twin Peaks
Gender based violence appears in all of the Twin Peaks texts in several forms and in many different storylines. Acts of physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional torment, and threats by men to commit such acts are rif e in both the main storylines and in the side plots. The show involves supernatural themes including demonic possession. When characters are possessed by one of the demons they are forced to do terrible things. The ending is quite shocking and disturbing. The Entire Mystery, As It Was Told
There is only one "correct" way to watch Twin Peaks, for both fans and newbies alike. That is: watch it all in the order it was put out. The pilot (American version), followed by Season One, followed by Season Two, followed by the prequel film, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
It's more a sequel to Fire Walk With Me than anything else, with a few elements of Twin Peaks sprinkled in. So, if you're just a fan of the original Twin Peaks and you're not familiar with Lynch's work, then The Return is not for you. You're not going to like it, I can assure you of that. This is ARTHOUSE TV.
Should I watch the Twin Peaks show or movie first : Watching the first two seasons of the TV series first — despite the bulk of it taking place after Fire Walk with Me — is not only necessary but presumed. Viewers should approach Fire Walk with Me accordingly and watch the TV series that spawned it first.
Do I have to watch Twin Peaks in order : Do I need to watch or read everything TWIN PEAKS (1990-1991), FIRE WALK WITH ME (1992), and TWIN PEAKS: A LIMITED EVENT SERIES (2017) make for the core of the series. The additional content is complementary, meaning they develop the story to some extent, but with different (and subjective) degrees of relevance.

IS the pilot is a bit boring, yet it gets more interesting and surreal as it goes on! any 13 year old can watch this alone. any 12 year old can watch with a parent!
Does Twin Peaks get scary : The violence, while infrequent, can get pretty intense and disturbing at times. Season 2 gets a lot more surreal, intense, and violent with the finale being incredibly unsettling. It is revealed a teenage girl was abused and raped by her father. This can be very upsetting to some viewers.
