Is Sparda Dead?
Later Life and Death

Sparda later appeared in the twentieth century where he met and fell in love with a woman named Eva, who bore him twin sons; Vergil and Dante. He would later disappear and eventually died at some point under unrevealed circumstances. He was sitting on the toilet, had a seizure, fell over and hit his temple on the edge of the sink and died. Sparda sealed the gate to the Demon world 2000 years ago, which unfortunately sealed his own power as well, and as such it left him in a much weaker state.2000 years
Immortality: Sparda had defeated Mundus over 2000 years ago prior to fathering Dante and Vergil during Modern Times. This indicates, that despite missing a lion's share of his true power, Sparda is still immortal and has not aged in the human world, long after the day he had defeated Mundus.

Sparda was as good as they come. Someone with unlimited power felt pity for a weaker species, and decided to help them. Despite his reputation as a killing machine, Sparda is surprisingly merciful, having defeated but NOT killed Mundus, Griffon, Phantom, Bolverk, Nevan, Beowulf, and Argosax.

Who killed Mundus : Mundus is the sadistic king of the demon world. Resembling a seraph, he was defeated by Sparda 2,000 years ago.

Sparda's heroism made him legendary in the human world, and he is known as "the Legendary Dark Knight". In Devil May Cry and its successors, Sparda left his power in his sword (known as the Force Edge or the Sparda) in the demonic realm. ("Sparda" is the Japanese inflection for "spada", a Latin word for "sword".)

Dante and Vergil alone are actually more powerful than Sparda ever was for a few reasons. Human souls are apparently considered 9th dimensional forces, meaning that weapons like Vergil's Mirage Edge are considered one of his most powerful weapons in his arsenal.

Who can defeat Sparda
