Is rubber considered elastic?
elastic

The reason rubber is so elastic: Polymers are long chains of chemicals that make up natural rubber. These polymers become tangled up in themselves because they are so lengthy (they might be hundreds of molecules long). As a result, the polymers have a feature known as elasticity. The strain produced in rubber is much larger compared to that in steel. This means that steel has a larger value of Young's modulus of elasticity and hence, steel has more elasticity than rubber. Note: Greater the resistance to change, greater is the elasticity of that material. An unvulcanized rubber lacks structural integrity and will “flow” over a period of time. Rubber has a low modulus of elasticity and is capable of sustaining a deformation of as much as 1000 percent. After such deformation, it quickly and forcibly retracts to its original dimensions.

Does rubber have elastic deformation : “Rubber elasticity, identified as the capacity to sustain very large deformations followed by complete recovery, is exhibited exclusively by polymeric substances consisting predominantly of long molecular chains. Moreover, it is manifested under suitable conditions by virtually all polymers so constituted.

Is rubber Flexible or elastic

As we know, rubber is flexible. Not just in terms of its elastic and malleable mechanical properties either.

Is rubber ductile or elastic : Rubber is an example of elastic material.

Elastic materials are always inversely proportional to the strain of the material. In which the material remains the same before and after removing the externally applied load.

Rubbers are elastomers, these are polymers with an elastic property. This elasticity differentiates rubbers from plastics.

Steel, because a body is said to be more elastic depending on how fast it gains its original shape after removal of external (deforming) force. When a force is applied to steel it is deformed but it immediately regains its original shape within a fraction of seconds which is not in the case of rubber.

Are elastic and rubber the same

However, "rubber" and "elastomer" are two ways to describe the same thing — elastomer is a description for any type of elastic material, such as synthetic rubber, while rubber is a specific type of elastomer.Rubber and elastomer are words commonly used to mean any material with rubber-like properties. Elastomer is shorthand for elastic polymer. Elastomers are viscoelastic: sticky, very elastic polymers (plastics). Natural rubber is an elastomer made from latex, a milky tree sap. However, "rubber" and "elastomer" are two ways to describe the same thing — elastomer is a description for any type of elastic material, such as synthetic rubber, while rubber is a specific type of elastomer.
