The three most important aspects of Heart of Darkness: Conrad intentionally made Heart of Darkness hard to read. He wanted the language of his novella to make the reader feel like they were fighting through the jungle, just like Marlow fought through the jungle in search of Kurtz.
Is Heart of Darkness violent : Heart of Darkness explores the issues surrounding imperialism in complicated ways. As Marlow travels from the Outer Station to the Central Station and finally up the river to the Inner Station, he encounters scenes of torture, cruelty, and near-slavery.
Is dark suitable for 12 year olds
Good plot, graphic nature.
Having said that, the show is very well written and well acted. I would not recommend anyone of a sensitive disposition to watch it, and it certainly isn't suitable to allow children to view, due to its depiction of nudity, multiple disturbing deaths and scenes of a graphic nature in general.
Can a 12 year old read from blood and ash : Amna It depends completely on the maturity of the reader. I think a mature 14 year old and up The book is meant for older teens though as there is violence and a few explicit scenes.
I loved the romance, the action and the fantasy. Honestly perfect for 12+ or 13+ and could not pit it down!
I don't consider Hopeless YA because it deals with a tough subject and there are a couple of sex scenes in it (honestly, ones I wish I could go back and remove lol) but they aren't very graphic. If you're asking for a child of yours, I would def read it first and then make the decision.

Heart of Darkness is a reminder of man's inhumanity to man–whether it be a century ago in the Congo, a few decades ago in Vietnam, or a few days ago in Syria. But because it depicts the violence, hatred and racism of its time, it has been challenged for removal from US schools (source). His main character, Marlow, submits to the prejudices of his era regarding matters essential to the dignity of women. A close review of the female characters in the text reveals Conrad's relegation of women to a one-dimensional state. Conrad's sexism is first seen in the presentation he offers of Marlow's aunt.
Along with its various other generic affiliations — imperial romance, psychological novel, impressionist tour de force — Heart of Darkness is a horror story.

Sex is implied every so often with characters shown in bras and underwear in bed and characters shown making out. Some implied sexual activity. There are many occasions where characters kiss passionately and it cuts to another scene, strongly implying that they have had sex.
Can a 13 year old read Shatter Me
but if you want a age rating id say a mature 12 year old could handle it but 14+ sound fine.
"It" by Stephen King is known for its horror themes and intense content, including graphic violence and strong language. It's generally considered a novel intended for mature readers.Colleen Hoover That entirely depends on the book. Some I wouldn't recommend for teens at all. But books like Slammed, Heart Bones, Regretting You, Hopeless, I think are okay for older teens. But books like Verity, Too Late and Ugly Love I'd definitely NOT recommend for teens.
Can a 13 year old read It Ends with Us : “It Ends with Us” by Colleen Hoover is generally recommended for mature readers due to its themes of domestic violence and complex relationships. The book deals with heavy subject matter, including abuse and its psychological effects, which may not be suitable for younger readers.
