Is Heart of Darkness a hard read?
Heart of Darkness is one of the most frustrating novels I have ever read and I would never wish reading it on another soul. I will acknowledge that great books are often difficult; I, for one, love to wrestle with Woolf and Dostoyevsky, but this novel is not one worth fighting through. The Heart of Darkness is a 72-page controversial novel written in 1899. Typically, it would take an average reader at least 3 hours and 45 minutes to read it, but you can finish it in 77 minutes reading at a pace of 500 words per minute. The most challenging books you will ever read

Is it OK for a 12 year old to read it

"It" by Stephen King is known for its horror themes and intense content, including graphic violence and strong language. It's generally considered a novel intended for mature readers.Colleen Hoover That entirely depends on the book. Some I wouldn't recommend for teens at all. But books like Slammed, Heart Bones, Regretting You, Hopeless, I think are okay for older teens. But books like Verity, Too Late and Ugly Love I'd definitely NOT recommend for teens. This book had a lot of powerful meanings and themes that will leave readers shocked and question their entire existence. However, the persecution of the African Americans by the Europeans and the deep content might turn off younger readers.

I don't consider Hopeless YA because it deals with a tough subject and there are a couple of sex scenes in it (honestly, ones I wish I could go back and remove lol) but they aren't very graphic. If you're asking for a child of yours, I would def read it first and then make the decision.

Can a 13 year old read Verity : To answer questions about Code Name Verity, please sign up. Mike People might jump on me for this, but this book is not suitable for children (under 12). There is some very strong language and dark tones to the book that young readers should not be exposed to.
