I'd recommend Rogue, as it's a more polished Black Flag. I agree with Lasi. Play Black Flag first, then Rogue. Althought Rogue is more polished, you should still play Black Flag because of certain reasons I can't spoil.The game is big but not too overwhelming at the same time. Lots of collectibles to get but still not an overly mass amount like the newer Assassin's Creed games”.
