There are delightful moments like the newborn foal struggling to stand and the raucous playfulness between Beauty and Ginger, as well as sad ones, like when young Joe had to give up Beauty, and cried when Ginger died. Black Beauty packs a punch and parents should be ready for children's emotional reactions.Joe recognizes Black Beauty from when he was owned by Squire Gordon (one of Beauty's first homes and one of his best). The book then ends with Beauty telling the readers how his home with Joe and the three ladies is his final home. He stays there for the rest of his life and lives a happy life.Beautifully filmed, emotional and very horse-centered, this is a terrific movie that will draw you into Black Beauty's thoughts and experiences. It will probably evoke tears, and certainly anger as the abuse of these horses is taken so casually by the human characters.
