Does Witcher 1 and 2 effect 3?
It is an older game and while the graphics held up well considering its age they can't compete with the latest releases Additionally. The game's world is more focused. And segmented. The first two Witcher games are non-linear, which leads some people to think that means they're full open-world, and that's not quite the case. While both give the player little sandboxes to play in, with a good amount of sidequests, they aren't nearly as open as Wild Hunt.Powered by IGN Wiki Guides

Where can I play The Witcher : Available now on PC/MAC & iOS, Android and Windows tablets!

Should I play Witcher 1 & 2 before 3

While The Witcher 2 is a definite improvement over the previous games, it's still unnecessary to play to enjoy The Witcher 3. CDPR even expected this, as a mechanic in place allows players who started on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to determine Geralt's choices throughout the second game.

Are Witcher 1 and 2 worth it : OP, I disliked the first Witcher, but the second one is really better, I loved it, and the controls have changed immensely. You may or may not like it, but don't let the first Witcher's controls throw you off, they're not there anymore. It feels more like a Mass Effect with swords now, gameplay-wise.

On the other hand, The Witcher 3 is a fair bit more permissive, with combat being smoother and faster, fitting in better with the open-world, free-roam structure. Geralt is also more resilient and quick healing with potions is more of an option than it was in TW2, which required you to drink all potions ahead of time.

You won't miss much if you start from Witcher 3. There's a few characters that have side quests that you'll be confused on, but it's not that big of a deal. All of the important plot from Witcher 2 is given to you at the beginning of Witcher 3. Witcher 3 is better looking, much longer, and a bit more casual friendly. You can skip The Witcher 1 and 2

The Witcher 1 and 2 aren't necessary in the slightest. This isn't to say they're not good games, but in order to start anew with its own canon separate from the books, CD Projekt Red gave Geralt amnesia at the beginning of the first game. There is slight nudity, but most isn't in a sexual way. There are only two real sex scenes, and they can easily be skipped. Foul language is occasional but present, maybe two or three f-bombs an episode. Other than that, it's a fantastic show.

The Witcher 2 Improves The Series But Still Isn't Witcher 3

The story is much longer and is separated into five chapters (including the Prologue and Epilogue). The game begins with King Foltest starting a war to reclaim his illegitimate children before being assassinated by a witcher assailant.

I never played Witcher 1 & 2 and didn't feel like Witcher 3's story is a mess. And obviously hundreds of thousands of people didn't.

Is Witcher 1, 2 and 3 connected : Unfortunately, some fans may be too wrapped up in the hype to realize that playing the first two games isn't necessary to enjoy the third. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt focuses on the last chapter of Geralt of Rivia's written tale, culminating several games' worth of decisions and consequences.
